Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa Tasks Gov’t to Ensure Credibility of DNA Laboratories
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon Thomas Tayebwa has tasked the government to ensure the credibility of DNA laboratories around Uganda.
DNA has been the talk around Uganda recently as many stories came up in the media especially men disappointed after doing a test on their children.
Most men have been disappointed after finding out that the children they have been looking after for so many years are actually not theirs.
According to Hon Thomas Tayebwa, many families have got broken and so many children have been depressed because of DNA.
He said some laboratories may give wrong results leading people to suffer as they face rejection and even men committing suicide.
The Deputy Speaker asked the government to ensure that the laboratories doing DNA are the right ones because sometimes they can be inaccurate.
“on the issue of DNA tests,..some men are committing suicide and others are suffering in silence. What’s happening is terrible. DNA tests can also be inaccurate and false!” Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa said.
